Route Accessibility: This route approaches the mountain from the south via Machame gate. The trail passes through the tropical rainforest to Shira plateau which finally leads to the summit.
Additional info: We provide porters and cooks for guidance and assistance while on the mountain.

Full detailed Itinerary
Transfer from Moshi or Arusha to arrive at Lemosho Gate for registration formalities
Get transferred by vehicle to the starting point which is located 10kms further from the gate.
Have some lunch before initiating the hike. Climb steadily through the rainforest while spotting Colobus (Black and White Monkeys) and Blue Monkeys.
The path leads to Mti mkubwa hut for dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.

Trek out of the rainforest into the moorland zone to reach Shira Ridge. Have some lunch at Shira hut and get a long rest while enjoying the mountain

Climb through the trail leads to Shira Hut 2 for some lunch and a long rest for a day just to have a good digestion

Start by ascending a ridge towards the Lava tower which provides an extra day for acclimatization. Have some rest and time for lunch while at the lava tower
Descend and proceed with the trail to reach Barranco hut for an evening arrival

Climb on the Baranco wall leading to the Karanga hut. Stay at Karanga hut for a hot lunch and have a long rest while you enjoy the mountain and have good pictures of different landscapes and birds

Climb the clef which leads to the Barafu hut “pole pole” while you enjoy the view of the Karanga hut. Drink enough water and take a short break on the way when needed.
Have some lunch at Barafu Hut and take a long rest.
Dinner and overnight at the campsite when you just waiting for the summit time.

Begin your day by waking up at around 23:00 to add additional warm clothing and headlamps. Depart from the campsite and commence your ascent by midnight towards the glacial zone. Follow the path leading to Stella Point at 5756 meters above sea level. Take some time to capture photographs at Stella Point. Climbers who have encountered AMS are recommended to begin their descent. However, those who are interested can opt for a round trip along the crater rim to reach Uhuru Peak at 5896 meters. Descend from the summit to the base campsite, which will take approximately 3 hours of walking. Spend an additional 2 hours at the campsite before having lunch. Following a brief rest, wake up and organize your belongings in the sleeping tent, enjoy your lunch, and start descending towards Mweka hut “pole pole” while admiring the stunning views of the mountain.

After the hot breakfast, continue hiking through the beautiful rainforest to arrive at Mweka gate. Get awarded with certificates whereby golden certificates are given to hikers who reach Uhuru Peak and green certificates for Stella Point hikers. Retreat to Mweka village for a drive to Moshi town for resting or for the flight back home. “Normally tipping can be done to the last campsite or at a certain gate”

Leave shortly at 7:00 after breakfast for a transfer to the exclusive Serengeti for about 6-7 hours
- Have lunch upon your arrival and go for an afternoon game drive while exploring the vast plains of Serengeti
In the evening, transfers to the Camping site for an overnight stay (Serengeti Public camping site)
- Leave for a half-day game drive in the Serengeti plains
- Game viewing to spot Big Five, hippos, elands, zebras, antelopes and others
- Get a chance to come across a variety of bird species
- Break for a picnic lunch at one of the picnic sites
- Proceed with the drive to Ngorongoro, where you will arrive in late afternoon
Transfers to the Camping site for an overnight stay (Ngorongoro Simba Camping Site)
- Start descending the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest unbroken caldera which is home to a variety of animals and bird species
- Game drive in the crater to spot Big Five, elands, buffalos, jackals, and thousands of flamingos
- Ascend out of the crater to have lunch at a picnic site
- Drive back to Arusha to earlier accommodations or (a flight back home according to Air ticket information)

Transfer to the Kilimanjaro Airport to go back home
